La Punt Chamues-ch

It is these striking, historic houses with the unique Engadine sgraffito and Romanesque wisdom on the facades that give La Punt Chamues-ch its charm. Thanks to its location at the foot of the Albula Pass, the village was long considered an important traffic junction and trading center, as the road over the Albula was the most important connection to the north. It is therefore no wonder that the great patrician families settled here and marked their terroir accordingly by building stately homes.
Today, La Punt presents itself as active, close to nature and connecting. And not just because the bridge over the Inn connects the two districts of La Punt and Chamues-ch. In summer, the surrounding area tempts you to take varied tours on a mountain bike, racing bike, inline skates or on foot, for example on the Engadine high trail. In winter, the wide plain with its perfectly groomed trails invites you to enjoy unique cross-country skiing experiences or walks on the winter hiking trails.
"Swiss Village of the Year" 2021
In the nationwide competition for the "Swiss Village of the Year" organized by the magazines Schweizer Illustrierte and L'illustré as well as the Corriere del Ticino, the municipality of La Punt Chamues-ch took first place. The decision was made by the readers. The competition looked for municipalities that have a particularly active village and club life. La Punt was the most convincing and won the competition.

Everything you need for your holiday in La Punt Chamues-ch
Picturesque and sun-drenched, the village stretches between wild peaks and fragrant mountain pine forests along the young Inn across the Engadin valley floor. The surrounding area tempts you to take varied tours on a mountain bike, racing bike, inline skates and on foot, for example on the Engadin high trail.
Meanwhile, families can enjoy cosy playgrounds and fire pits by the water. Incidentally, Val Chamuera is considered the most pristine valley in the entire Engadin: at the back of Alp Serlas, there is no kiosk waiting for hikers, but instead a feeling of happiness in unspoilt nature.
