Guided village tour of La Punt Chamues-ch

La Punt Sommer
Beautiful and stately: with its stately homes, La Punt Chamues-ch is a charming open-air museum.

Beautiful (and) stately: With its stately houses, La Punt Chamues-ch becomes a charming open-air museum

They sit majestically enthroned in the village, the richly decorated farmhouses in the Chamues-ch district and the stately patrician houses in the La Punt district. The old patricians already knew why they built their stately homes here in the 16th and 17th centuries: La Punt Chamues-ch is strategically located at the foot of the Albula Pass and quickly became one of the most important trading centres in Graubünden.

The Chesa Merleda with its bright white battlements is considered a landmark of La Punt and is one of the most important architectural monuments in the canton of Graubünden. But many visitors are also fascinated by older buildings such as the late Gothic church of San Andrea with its Romanesque foundations from the Middle Ages and modern stained glass windows. There are not only exciting things to see, but also to hear on the varied village tour: listen to the story of Adam da Chamues-ch, for example, and find out what the ‘Liberator of the Upper Engadine’ is all about.
