Silvaplana

Life is celebrated in Silvaplana - it is considered the lively, young town in the Engadine and offers a wide range of sporting opportunities in the three districts of Silvaplana, Champfèr and Surlej. In winter, the lake turns into a sea of ice and snow. If you don't know, you won't be able to imagine the spectacle described above in summer. In winter, however, Silvaplana is no less popular - freestylers in particular are drawn to the town. Amateur and top athletes appreciate the snow park on the freestyle mountain Corvatsch.

In the summer at midday in Silvaplana: the Maloja wind is blowing up. This is their moment - kiters and windsurfers grab their boards and head out onto the turquoise water. Soon the lake is a colorful scene that can be seen from afar and just looking at it gives you a feeling of freedom and the knowledge that this is the place for carefree moments.

Thanks to an extensive redesign, the municipality has diverted traffic and created a completely new meeting place in the town center. It is no wonder that people in Silvaplana are visibly proud of the new look, which represents an improvement for locals and guests. From June to October, the “Restorant sülla plazza” invites you to spend some leisurely hours with food and drink: after a hike, you can enjoy an aperitif on the village square or a bite to eat as a stop on your bike tour.

In summer and winter, the square is also regularly used for theater performances, concerts, markets or children's events. Silvaplana has thus achieved what people have long wanted - a real village square that gives the village that certain something. But it is something you have to see and experience for yourself - see for yourself.
