10 hidden barbecue spots in the Engadin

The fireplace next to the ruins in Madulain is a real insider tip. A pleasant 20-minute walk leads from Madulain train station to the fireplace. Once you reach the top, you will have a wonderful view of the surrounding landscape - the sausage tastes even better.

From the Resgia car park in Zuoz, the path takes you along the Arpiglia stream for ten minutes to the fireplace. At the quiet fireplace, families and outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the wide view over the valley and Zuoz.

The cosy fireplace is nestled in a picturesque forest clearing on the way to Lej da Staz. It is only a 20-minute walk from Celerina. The Staz forest offers numerous fireplaces that are ideal for convivial picnics and social evenings.

The fireplace on the Sass Queder (3066 m above sea level) is a special highlight, and not just because of its height. From here you have a unique view of the breathtaking Engadin mountain landscape. A path leads from the Diavolezza mountain station to the highest barbecue area in Europe. The climb takes around 30 minutes.

The fire pit at Lej Zuppo is beautifully hidden in the idyllic forest. The fire pit can be reached either in about 15 minutes from the Olympic ski jump in St. Moritz - Bad or in about 30 minutes on foot from the Surlej parking lot bus stop.

The Güvé fireplace in Val Fex is around 45 minutes' walk from Sils. Here you have to earn your sausage first: the path takes you through beautiful landscapes and a wonderful world of flowers for around 45 minutes before you reach the fireplace.

The forest nature trail barbecue area, about two kilometers from Madulain, can be reached on foot or by bike and offers an ideal opportunity to discover the variety of plants and animals along the nature trail. Along the way, nature lovers can marvel at 34 different plant species and artistically carved wooden figures of native wild animals.
