Bike transport with mountain railways
Corviglia
Note Summer 2026: The funicular railways St. Moritz–Chantarella–Corviglia are closed throughout the entire summer due to a major overhaul. Access to Corviglia remains guaranteed via the following alternatives:
- Cable car St. Moritz Bad–Signal as the main access (incl. bike transport)
- Chairlift Alp Giop (incl. bike transport) – in operation for this summer only
- Gondola Celerina–Marguns with onward connection via chairlift Marguns–Corviglia
- Shuttle bus for pedestrians between Signal mountain station and Piz Nair valley station (no bike transport)
All bike offerings, flow trails and hiking trails remain accessible.
Corvatsch
Enduro enthusiasts can take the large gondola from Silvaplana/Surlej up to the mid-station Corvatsch and test their skills on the technically demanding trails «Hahnensee» and «Val Roseg». Early birds can take the first three cable car departures, late risers the last three. Bike transport is not permitted on the remaining departures, as the trails are primarily reserved for hikers during those times.
Anyone booking more than one night at a participating hotel or holiday apartment will receive mountain railway access all-inclusive. During summer, selected hotels and holiday apartments offer their guests all mountain railway transport services included – covering passenger transport, mountain bike and other sports equipment transport, as well as free carriage of dogs.
Bike-Transport mit Bus & Zug
The bike routes around the Bernina Pass are popular not only because of the spectacular scenery and flowing single trails, but also because of the Rhaetian Railway. The railway line crosses the pass, allowing cyclists to get off at the hospice and ride down to Pontresina or Poschiavo as they wish. Please note: check the timetable for connections with bike transport. Fascinating for railway enthusiasts: the train runs on the ‘UNESCO World Heritage RhB’ route.
If you don't have enough energy for the journey home, the Engadin Bus will gladly take you the last few kilometres. The local bus company transports mountain bikes directly on the bus. However, this is only possible if there is enough space available. The bike must be accompanied by its owner and have a valid ticket. SBB day tickets for bikes are valid on the entire Engadin Bus network. Buses run between Maloja and Zernez.
During the summer season, Postbuses are equipped with bike racks at the rear of the vehicle (except minibuses). Up to five mountain bikes can be transported. Bikes must be accompanied by their owners, loaded by the owners themselves and have a valid ticket. There is no guarantee that bikes will be accepted. If the bike cannot be transported due to capacity reasons, it will be transported on the next PostBus
Life is complicated enough. Fortunately, there is a simple solution for transporting bikes: with the graubündenPASS Bike, your bike can be transported on self-loading trains for one day. It is valid on the RhB, Postauto and Engadin Bus networks. Please note the different zones.
