Engadin winter activities

Sun-kissed Upper Engadin is the largest winter sports region in Switzerland and St. Moritz is a mecca for skiing. In 2017, it hosted the Alpine World Ski Championships for the fifth time. But it’s not just Corviglia (where the World Ski Championships took place) that attracts skiers and snowboarders from all over the world to the high valley in Grisons, cross-country skiers and snowshoers will also get a run for their money on any of the well-prepared cross-country ski trails and idyllic hiking routes.

Upper Engadin is a true paradise for winter sports enthusiasts. But the region also has a proud tradition of ice sports: ice rinks and tracks for curling, hockey, Bavarian curling and ice skating can be found in every village to add some variety to your active holiday – along with indoor sports and a range of sporting excursions. Special sports activities and discounts for families with children make the winter sports region a great destination for your next family trip.

Before your active weekend or winter holiday begins, first get an overview of the sports activities from the various operators throughout the region. It’s also worth having a look at the various packages and special deals. For example, many hotels offer ski passes at special rates, and attractive holiday packages can be purchased when booking a holiday apartment.
