Once upon a time… there was an ambitious vision of the Engadin St. Moritz Mountains called “Vision 2025: Use only reused water for the artificial snowmaking of the slopes in the Corviglia ski area”.

But first things first: The mountain railway company has been known as a pioneer in sustainability for years. Since 1997, the Engadin St. Moritz Mountains have been the first ski resort in the world to use low-sulphur winter diesel. In 2007, the renovated Romantikhotel Muottas Muragl opened as the first plus-energy hotel in the Alps. In 2017, the Alpine World Ski Championships went down in history as the “most sustainable world championships in piste management”.
