Giorgio Armani

Armani is considered one of the most important fashion designers of the 20th century. He is the sole owner of the international fashion company he founded in 1975, which operates more than 2000 stores in 60 countries.

The brand initially stood for elegant men’s fashion; later, Armani also included women’s fashion. In the 1980s, Giorgio Armani blossomed into a global fashion empire. As early as 1981, the brand expanded to include the "Emporio Armani" line, and eponymous stores were opened, mainly selling jeans and underwear.

To this day, Giorgio Armani is the sole shareholder of his empire. He has always refused to go public because he doesn’t want his designs to be "dictated by the market", as he once said. The company Giorgio Armani, which now also offers cosmetics and eyewear, was valued at five billion euros in the mid-2000s. Armani’s personal fortune was estimated at 7.2 billion euros in the 2010s.
