Winter Bucket List Samedan

Winterwandern in Samedan
We don't want to go into too much detail about all the thousands of ways to enjoy the winter in Sameden. After all, you have to make the most of every minute of your Engadin winter days. In keeping with the motto "quality over quantity", we are therefore serving you our 10 winter highlights on this page:

1. Mineral Bath & Spa

A bathing jewel in the Engadine - bathing between heaven and earth, church and mountains. Let the unique, mystical atmosphere take you to another world. Located in the middle of the historic village center and attached to the listed church, Switzerland's first vertical mineral bath impresses with its unique architecture by Miller & Maranta. The vertical arrangement of the various baths on three floors means that the bathing experience really "grows" beyond itself - until you can finally admire the Alpine panorama from the outdoor pool high up directly under the church tower. You bathe in mineral water from the spa's own spring, which is taken directly under the building at a depth of 35 m.

In its museum, learn more about the cultural activities of the Engadin, from art, music, architecture, and crafts to design. www.latuor.ch

Once the largest private residence in the Engadin, it is now the Upper Engadin Cultural Center and a haven of Romansh culture. The cultural archive, now a museum, houses an important library with Engadin collections and estates, as well as the Museum of Home Decor. Our tip: Don't forget to pay a visit to the historic garden with its charming pavilion dating back to 1855. www.chesaplanta.ch

Station 3: For over 30 years, art has been exhibited in the rooms of the old 17th-century village bakery. Performance artists also find a distinctive stage in the "Kunstraum Riss." www.riss.ws

8. Winter walk on the Alp Muntatsch

For the first time, the wonderful view of the Samedner landscape from Alp Muntatsch can also be enjoyed in winter. The path is groomed once a week from November to March, so nothing stands in the way of a short hike in the snow. From the Muntarütsch shooting range, the path winds its way up to Alp Muntatsch. Where bikers and hikers can be found in summer, in winter you can enjoy the silence with snow under your feet.

It hisses, steams and chugs: With the power of fire and water, the RhB steam locomotive pulls the red nostalgic carriages through the railway region of Graubünden.
