Cross-Country Skiing in Samedan

Langlaufen in Samedan
The Upper Engadin cross-country skiing paradise takes place on several levels: in the valley floors, in the mountains and on the frozen mountain lakes.

Trails in the heart region

A fine triangle of cross-country ski trails with around 84 km for all levels extends across the Samedner area. The highlight of the heart region is the "aorta" of the cross-country ski trail network: the 42 km long marathon route between Maloja and S-chanf, where the Engadin Ski Marathon has attracted cross-country skiing fans from all over the world since 1969.

Promulins Arena – Gravatscha

The approximately 7.5 kilometer long circular trail follows the trails of the women's Engadin Ski Marathon, the river restoration projects around Inn and Flaz and the Engadin Ski Marathon. A trail for the head and legs!

Pontresina - Val Roseg

In the wild and romantic side valley near Pontresina, runners are surrounded by pure nature. 7.5 kilometers of freshly prepared tracks lead from Pontresina train station into the valley over gently rising winter meadows and through larch forests covered in deep snow. The route, which is purely classic, is lined on both sides by the gentle giants Piz Tschierva and Piz Corvatsch and follows the course of the Ova da Roseg river. Cross-country skiers always head for the Hotel Restaurant Roseg Gletscher, where they can finally see other impressive peaks of the Bernina group. If the snow conditions and your own energy reserves allow it, you can take the 2.5 km long extension of the trail from here towards the frozen glacial lake Lej da Vadret. You can return to Pontresina on the trail you took on the way there - or take a leisurely horse-drawn sleigh ride from the Restaurant Roseg Gletscher.

Cross-country dog trail

When the first snowflakes fall, your dog is happy too. In Zuoz, you can go cross-country skiing on the dog trail with your faithful four-legged friend.

Sports-loving dog owners can ideally combine their four-legged companion's urge to exercise with skijoring - a unique sport that unites humans and dogs as a team. The dog owner glides on skating skis and is connected to their dog via an elasticated lead, who wears a special pulling harness as in dog sledding. While the dog supports the cross-country skier, the two work together in harmony. The prerequisite for this dynamic activity is a solid basic level of fitness in both humans and animals, which can be further developed on the cross-country trail.

The Engadin is considered a paradise for Nordic winter sports. Special dog trails have been created to include four-legged friends in this world. On the picturesque plateau between S-chanf, Zuoz, Madulain and La Punt Chamues-ch, you can enjoy the snow-covered landscape together with your faithful companion.

There are three trails to choose from:
-Circular trail no. 113 in La Punt Chamues-ch,
-Route no. 114 from Madulain to Zuoz,
-cross-country trail no. 119 from Zuoz to S-chanf.

All dog cross-country trails are clearly marked and offer an easy route that is ideal for enjoying the cross-country trail together. Immerse yourself in the impressive winter world of the Engadin with your four-legged friend and experience cross-country skiing in a different way!
