Val Bever fairy tale trail

It has become a favourite with visitors of all ages: the fairy tale trail leads from Bever to Spinas, with six engaging experience stations along the way, and invites visitors to immerse themselves in the world of Engadin fairy tales.
Impressive sculptures by local artists bring stories to life that were written by Engadin authors. The stories can be read in large-format fairy-tale books at the resting places along the route. Fairy-tale fans are accompanied on their journey of discovery by audio stories, an interactive quiz, and Mr Beaver as narrator. The fairy-tale experience is also available from the Tourist Information office in Bever as a newly illustrated book, so the magic of the journey can continue at home.
The trail leads through fragrant meadows and charming woodlands, can be walked in both directions, and is also suitable for all-terrain pushchairs. At Punt da Resgia, at the station “The story of the little Star“ and near Spinas, three cosy picnic / barbecue spots invite visitors to linger awhile. At Gasthaus Spinas, the sunny terrace is an inviting place to stop for refreshments, while children can enjoy the playground.
If your energy begins to fade, there are fortunately transportation options: a horse-drawn carriage runs once daily through the Val Bever, while the Rhaetian Railway offers flexible travel to and from Bever, Spinas, and the surrounding villages. Please note: only certain trains stop at Spinas, and only on request. The Bever Tourist Information or the SBB online timetable provide up-to-date information.
For those wishing to explore further, the upper Val Bever is highly recommended: here, the landscape – and especially the Beverin – appears in a wild, untouched state. In this context, the river has been awarded the “Gewässerperle PLUS” label since summer 2021.

The Puzzle Game
Along the Fairy Tale Trail, Mr Beaver not only tells wonderful fairy tales, but at each stop he has also prepared a little puzzle game for you. Read the clues carefully – and off you go!
Mr Beaver’s best friends are Madlaina, Carlo, Ladina, Reto, Graziella, and Duri. They spend lots of time with him and share many exciting adventures. Of course, all of Mr Beaver’s friends are animals – but which animal belongs to each name? Find out!
How it works
- Mr Beaver has painted a picture of each of his friends on a small round plaque.
- He has carefully hidden one of these near each fairy tale station.
- Follow Mr Beaver’s clues to find the plaques and discover which animal belongs to each name.
- Write the first letter of the animal’s name in the matching box.
- Once you have found all the plaques and entered the letters correctly, they will reveal the solution word.
- Take the correct solution word to Bever Tourist Information, Gasthaus Spinas, or Bever Lodge to claim your well-earned prize.
Don’t have anything to write with? No problem – Mr Beaver has you covered! You’ll find a pencil at every reading chair.
