Engadin Airport
As one of very few destinations in the Alpine region, the Upper Engadine has its own airport and is therefore also accessible worldwide by air (jets, turboprops, helicopters).
Engadin Airport is open all year round. Over the last five years, Engadin Airport has recorded an average of around 15,000 flight movements (arrivals and departures) per year. Almost 20% or around 3,000 flight movements are jets (13%) or turboprops (7%). These are usually passenger or feeder flights for four and five star hotels, property owners, top events such as the Jazz Festival, Ski World Cup races, the World Economic Forum in Davos, the polo tournament or the White Turf in St. Moritz. Thanks to its own customs clearance and its definition as a Schengen external border, the regional airport can also be reached directly from non-Schengen countries worldwide. The airport is a Category B civil airport and is available to everyone for private, commercial and business flights. The new airport infrastructure will be ready for occupancy from 2023. Together with the GNSS-IFR procedure to be introduced next year, which will guide aircraft to and from the Engadine more safely and with greater predictability, the regional airport will become the "gateway to the world".
