Exhibition "Picture Cycle - The 5 Continents"

Gian Casty (1914-1979) is considered one of the most important Swiss glass painters of the 20th century. His work on glass, "Picture Cycle - The 5 Continents," can be seen in the Solèr (Corridor of Light) in the Centrel car park in Zuoz. The connection between Switzerland and the world is at the heart of these glass paintings. The first picture ("Sailor") and the last ("India") focus on people and their culture. The other three tell of the essence of nature in the regions of the earth depicted: the dense "jungle" in South America, the world of the original "Africa," and the endless expanse of the far north in the picture "Eskimo."
