Running

Running im Engadin
When the snow in spring reveals the endless Engadin network of hiking trails, paths and roads, it is time for runners. Top athletes use the Engadin for altitude training, feel-good joggers experience the wonderful nature as «pleasure by the meter» and freedom-loving trail runners leave asphalt and cobblestones far behind them - welcome to the running paradise!

«Bird flies, fish swims, …

… Man runs,” the legendary long-distance runner Emil Zátopek once said laconically, and here in the Engadine, man even runs to happiness: trail runners, competitive athletes and occasional joggers - they all find their very own runner’s paradise here

Jogging – the playful forest run

The morning sun shines through the treetops and as you jog along the wide, soft paths of the Stazerwald, all you can hear is your own breathing and the chirping of the birds... There is nowhere better to run than here in the Engadin! Whether early in the day, when the dawn bathes nature in its unique light, or in the evening, when dusk transforms it into a mystical fairytale landscape - jogging in the Engadin is a boundless pleasure at any time.

Orienteering

The Engadin Alpine beauties such as the Albula Pass, the panoramic mountain Muottas Muragl, the World Cup queen Corviglia, the wild Corvatsch, the family-friendly Furtschellas and the contrasting Alp Grüm are discovered by orienteers in their own special way: In each area, 15 waypoints must be passed using an orienteering map. Since there is no specific order, everyone can choose their own route through the terrain and should therefore not only be physically fit, but also be able to read maps and plan (or re-plan) quickly. The orienteering maps are available from the tourist information offices in Sils, Silvaplana, St. Moritz, Celerina, La Punt (for the Albula Pass waypoint network), from Schuler Bücher Wega in St. Moritz and from the valley stations of the mountain railways.

Geschichte: I belong here – I can fly here
Story

I belong here – I can fly here

Julia Bleasdale does not need wings to fly. When she runs through the picturesque Val Poschiavo, up to the Diavolezza or along the mirror-like Lake Sils, she feels as if she is running on clouds, as free and light as a bird.
