Stubete am See: Cristina Janett & Andreas Gabriel

It's no surprise that Cristina Janett and Andreas Gabriel have found each other musically: both their lives have been intertwined with folk music since early childhood, and both have ventured into new territory with their instruments without abandoning their musical roots. The two instruments meet as equals, sometimes the violin takes the lead, sometimes the cello is bolder. At times it sounds like a dreamy elegy, at others like familiar violin melodies. When the duo plays in their native region, it almost sounds as if they have a smile on their faces, as all the turns and runs are executed with almost exaggerated precision. The musical collaboration between Janett & Gabriel is a stroke of luck for all fans of alternative folk music.
