Reading: RM Rilke and A. Forrer - an extraordinary correspondence

The letters, read aloud and commented on by Mirella Carbone and Joachim Jung, testify to the development and deepening of a spiritual and emotional connection between two very different people who only met briefly three times.
In November 1919, Rilke read his own poems in St. Gallen. Among the audience was 18-year-old Anita Forrer. The poetic power of Rilke's reading, as well as the charm of his personality, affected the young woman so strongly that she wrote to the 44-year-old, already well-known poet shortly afterward. Rilke liked Anita's natural language and replied. This led to a correspondence that had a formative influence on the young woman's development and is also a significant literary testament to the poet's empathy.
