Play: “The Town Meeting”

Festively decorated, politically explosive: in Oberflüeli’s sports hall, the final village assembly escalates into a bitterly comic showdown. Old feuds resurface, friendships are shattered, fears come to a head. Hovering over it all is the question:
Will the village save its autonomy, or will it capitulate to efficiency and appointed officials?

Inspired by the minutes of Graubünden municipal assemblies from Donat Caduff’s book Das Gelbe des Eis, this is a wild ride through the hopes and abysses of a village pushed to its limits.
