Guided tour of Sils Museum: Exhibition "Annemarie Schwarzenbach (1908–1942)"

Annemarie Schwarzenbach

Annemarie Schwarzenbach

The exhibition portrays the journalist, photojournalist and writer in the tension between her restlessness and thirst for adventure on the one hand, and her longing for a home on the other.

On display are photographs, diaries, reports, letters, and literary texts – testimonies to her extensive travels as well as her connection to Sils. Annemarie Schwarzenbach (1908–1942) was one of the most fascinating Swiss figures of the 20th century. As a writer, journalist, photographer, and traveler, she grappled early on with themes such as identity, social change, and political responsibility. Her reportage, novels, and photographs remain highly relevant today. In Sils Baselgia, she found a personal retreat and a place to work. The guided tours illuminate both the life and work of this extraordinary woman.

Guided tours: every Tuesday at 5 p.m. No registration required. Cost: Exhibition entrance fee**
