Engadin Orchestra (Pontresina und Sils)

A tradition unparalleled in Europe, it has been at home in the Upper Engadine since the late 19th century. Musicians from La Scala in Milan were among those who initiated it. Even the renowned conductor Arturo Toscanini made a point of attending one or two concerts. Today, soloists and members of various salon ensembles from numerous countries travel to the Engadine. While salon music was the primary focus in the past, the repertoire now also includes opera and musical arrangements, jazz, and contemporary pieces. The spa concerts enjoy unbroken popularity, which has now also captivated the younger generation.
These concerts, performed by the Camerata Pontresina, take place daily in the Taiswald forest when the weather is fine, and on Sundays in Sils at the entrance to the Fex Valley.
