Schlitteda Champfèr
The Schlitteda is an Engadin custom: a festive sleigh ride with couples in Engadin traditional costumes, on decorated Engadin sleighs pulled by horses.
At 9:15 a.m., the procession of artfully painted and carved sleds begins, winding its way through the wintry Upper Engadine landscape. The festive Engadine costumes worn by the women, along with the traditional men's attire of tailcoats or overcoats and tricorn hats, lend the procession its distinctive character.
