22° Festival della Castagna - Castegna: Much more than just roasted chestnuts
Colors, scents and aromas: These are the ingredients of the Chestnut Festival, which is celebrated with over 60 events from September 26th to October 18th.
In September 2025, the magazine Schweizer Landliebe – in collaboration with the Associazione Castanicoltori Bregaglia, the Hotel Palazzo Salis, and Bregaglia Maloja Turismo – published the book "Castegna: Much more than just roasted chestnuts". The book was awarded the silver medal at the Swiss Gourmet Book Award 2026.
The panel speakers Manuela Filli-Salis (Associazione Castanicoltori Bregaglia), Elvira Salis (from Bondo, an expert on the Bregaglia region for nearly 90 years and a gifted storyteller), and Riccardo Cicognani (professional chef and host at Palazzo Salis, Soglio) will discuss the book and the delicious product at the heart of it all: the chestnut. The evening will be moderated by Andrea Gutgsell.
