Albulatunnel

Albulatunnel

The Albula Tunnel of the Rhaetian Railway was opened in 1903. It is part of the Albula line from Chur to St. Moritz, which, together with the Bernina line, was designated a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2008. A new tube is currently being built, which is expected to replace the existing tunnel in June 2024.

There will also be construction work around Spinas in the summer of 2023, with various sub-projects reaching their completion: New barrier-free platform facilities at the railway station, bypass waterways for fish, renaturation of the Beverin floodplain, work on supply lines, construction of a micro sewage treatment plant. Obstructions and diversions for hikers and bikers are to be expected at times.
