Reading – a gift that lasts a lifetime. Children who grow up with books from an early age have an advantage. They discover early on how much fun pictures and books are, and take pleasure in reading and learning throughout their life. The Samedan/Bever village & school library was founded in 1987, and since 2005 has been housed in the Puoz school building in Samedan. The library is financed by the library association, Verein Biblioteca Bever/Samedan, and run in accordance with the guidelines of the Swiss Working Community of Public Libraries (SAB). Since it opened, the library has developed into a centre for information, education, leisure pursuits, entertainment, personal contact, and culture. Over 8,500 media are at visitors’ disposal. The selection is constantly updated and encompasses fiction, non-fiction, picture books, comics, magazines, audio cassettes, audio books and DVD films for all ages. Here adults, young people and children can find all kinds of media – up-to-date and well-established, exciting and unexpected, interesting and fun.
