Rolf Bräm On his tours through the alpine surroundigs the Ticino-born artist senses, sees, experiences and sketches, creating medium and large-format mountain paintings in an unmistakable style. Equally stunning are the colourful wooden figures, a particular association with Alberto Giacometti's bronze sculptures. In The Romansh mother tongue of Engadin artist Ernestina Abbühl, 'stone and wax' translate as Crap i tschaira. And in distinctive architectural alpine reliefs she associates the harsh and the hard with the emotional aspect of the rocky Engadin and Val Bregaglia mountains as well as the sensory atmosphere of the southern alpine climes of Graubünden.
