Family excursions

Downhill Trottinett Marguns

Our Engadin summer makes life easy for families: with endless fun and action on offer, we promise children and teenagers unforgettable holidays. Plus parents get to really relax!

Parents won’t hear the words “I’m bored” in the Engadin: here, fun and adventure lie around every turn. Instead expect successful family holidays from beginning to end – especially at our two official “Family Destinations”, Pontresina and Zuoz, thanks to action-packed summer programmes and attractive family deals.

Es ist offiziell: Pontresina und Zuoz tragen dank ihrer hervorragenden Familienangebote das Qualitätslabel «Family Destination» des Schweizer Tourismusverbands.

Family holidays with seal of quality

Pontresina, for example, has created a fun mascot called Sabi, who introduces children to the adventure trails and welcomes them to the Klapperlapapp fairy-tale festival. Kids can also explore nature with Fix the fox, as they join him on an exciting hunt for animal tracks. Another special attraction here: a large colony of wild ibex lives on the nearby slopes, so families have the chance to observe these magnificent animals close-up. In Zuoz, meanwhile, children especially enjoy the little yellow train, which chugs along to the entrance of the Swiss National Park. Kids who love ponies are also in for a treat – on guided rides, for example.

On the trail of nature

The Swiss National Park holds all kinds of secrets that are fun to uncover. Why do woodpeckers make rings in the tree bark? Where do the bear tracks lead? Who can spot the marmot whistling so cheekily? Families who would like to explore the wonders of nature can equip themselves with the digital Swiss National Park guide and children’s trail booklet before they set off. Various theme trails have been designed specially for children – but when the kids start to play the “bear’s blues” on cowbells, even parents want to join in.

Indoor fun on wet days

A child's thirst for adventure doesn't stop for bad weather! Equipped with rubber boots and ponchos, there is still so much to do in the Engadin even on a rainy day. How about a wildlife observation walk in the National Park, exploring the barefoot trails in Celerina, or a visit to the petting zoo at the Morteratsch Alpine Show Dairy? But just in case it does get too wet, there are numerous indoor alternatives which offer fun and excitement for the whole family.
