The flute organ was composed by Raphael B. Meyer between 2020 and 2022. With charm, wit and a wink, the programme captures fairground and variété moods from days long gone, moving somewhere between jazz, classical and virtuoso light music. All four members of the Basel Recorder Band studied early music at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. In addition to the wide range of instruments in the recorder family - from the 20 centimetre sopranino to the 2 metre sub-bass recorder - all kinds of special instruments such as gem horns, lotus flutes, bang guns, cowbells and recorders prepared with aluminium foil are used. Come on in!
