The police seal off the building, onlookers hoot, pull out their cell phones. The woman´s boyfriend, her sister, a policeman and seven other people who have close or distant dealings with her get out of step. They fall out of the routines of their everyday lives, lose their footing - or plunge into a freedom they no longer thought possible.
Simone Lappert, born in 1985 in Aarau, Switzerland, studied at the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel. She was shortlisted for the "aspekte" prize with her debut novel "Wurfschatten". She is president of the Basel International Poetry Festival and Swiss curator for the poetry project Babelsprech. International. In 2019, the novel "Der Sprung" was published and nominated for the Swiss Book Prize. She lives and works in Basel and Zurich
