Open Doors Engadin - Torre Belvedere Maloja

Maloja
Architecture for everyone. At the end of June, Bergell and Engadin open their doors for a weekend.

Built from 1882 in connection with the legendary Hôtel Kursaal de la Maloja (later Maloja Palace Hotel) by the Belgian Count Camille de Renesse (1836 - 1904), the Belvedere tower is part of one of the most important architectural witnesses to tourism in the Alpine region and is therefore of great social, economic and architectural-historical value. The tower is also a rare example of an architectural monument built in the neo-Gothic style in Graubünden (from: building inventory of 12.08.2019). With the conversion carried out in spring 2023, the tower was carefully remodelled with small and modest but decisive interventions for its current use as an unmanned Pro Natura museum.
