It´s the dream team: the Chesa Planta, former seat of the aristocratic von Planta and von Salis dynasties, dating from the 16th Century and now home to a fascinating museum; and NOMAD, the travelling showcase for art and design. NOMAD offers galleries and artists an opportunity to show collectable design and contemporary art - individual or limited-edition pieces - in an exceptional architectural setting. In many cases, the boundary between art and design is blurred remarkably: artists increasingly shape the market for interior decor, and designers no longer see formal beauty as the non plus ultra of their world. The market for these exclusive collectable items is very young, just like the unique format of NOMAD. In the words of its founders, Giorgio Pace and Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte, NOMAD is deliberately unlike the large-scale art fairs: more of a showcase, almost a club.
