«Literature Hotels» - Author Reading by Barbara Schaefer

Sils i.E.
The German author has followed in the footsteps of Hermann Hesse, Agatha Christie, Oscar Wilde and other writers, to where they wrote their novels, drank in bars.

Born in Heidenheim an der Brenz, journalist and author Barbara Schaefer studied theatre studies, modern German literature and comparative literature in Munich and Bologna. She has been working as a freelance journalist and author since 1997 and publishes travel reports.

"Literaturhotels" (2020 by BusseSeewald) is a journey to the most beautiful literary hotels in the world with: Where, among others, the famous German-Swiss writer Hermann Karl Hesse (Hotel Waldhaus, Sils), the British writer Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie, Lady Mallowan (Pera Palace, Istanbul), who wrote the novel "Murder on the Orient Express", which has already been filmed several times, and the U.S. author F. Scott Fitzgerald (Hôtel Belles Rives, Juan-les-Pins) stayed, drank at bars, hacked away at old typewriters, honed formulations and created literature.
