Camera Obscura Sonora 10/12/24

Pontresina
Concerts at the Camera Obscura Music in dialog with the constantly changing play of light and shadow of the Camera Obscura on the Bernina Pass.

The Camera Obscura, located in a concrete tower on the Bernina Pass on the border between the Engadin and Valposchiavo, is a fascinating building. The interior of this architecturally unique building serves as a backdrop to reflect the impressive Alpine panorama. However, the Camera Obscura is not only a visual space, it also offers excellent acoustics.

On three afternoons, musicians will interact with the constantly changing play of light and shadow and incorporate this into their music.

The instruments will mainly be played without amplification; silence will be the starting point. Essential to this dialog are the special acoustics and the contemplative atmosphere of the space, which create an extraordinary sensual experience.

The performances are ideally combined with the joint project “Splendur e sumbriva - light and shadow in the Engadin”, a joint exhibition of 14 Engadin museums, studios and archives between Zuoz and Maloja, St. Moritz and Pontresina. The project promises visitors a unique immersive experience that conveys the beauty and dynamics of the Alpine landscape in a new, artistic way.
