The highest-altitude conference centre in Europe
On the doorstep of the Convention and Event Centre Pontresina is Pontresina’s majestic landscape of mountains and glaciers. As a result, the views from all of the Convention and Event Centre rooms are phenomenal. And as one, great, unspoilt outdoor playground, the Engadin offers 1,001 ways of enjoying leisure time on a natural high – so that your seminar, conference or event in Engadin St. Moritz becomes a truly unforgettable experience.
Events at the Conference and Event Centre Pontresina leave a small environmental footprint. As the first and yet the only convention centre in Switzerland, it has been awarded the "Sustainable Company" certificate by Expo-Event Live Communication Association Switzerland. A company may only call itself a "sustainable company" if it has achieved an outstanding performance in terms of energy use, waste prevention and mobility, as well as staff responsibility. As an example, the convention centre is operated with 100% green energy, and the lighting is being converted to LED.
At the heart of Convention and Event Centre Pontresina is the first-floor Sela Arabella auditorium, whose tall windows running the length of the hall offer magnificent views of the glacier-framed Roseg Valley. The space is ideal for conventions, meetings, banquets and other events. With its large stage, extendable on request by a catwalk, and its comprehensive technical installations, it is equally well adapted for product presentations and shows.
If the Galeria Salomé is included, the Sela Arabella has a maximum seating capacity of 500 in concert style, or 190 in seminar style, or 250 for banquets. The kitchen is located directly behind the auditorium, guaranteeing fast service.
The seven meeting rooms of the convention centre offer flexible use. The Muragl and Laret rooms on the first floor can be booked separately as individual seminar rooms or – with the dividing wall removed – as one double-sized room. The same goes for San Spiert and Giarsun on the second floor. The rooms are equipped with blackout blinds, dimmable ceiling lighting and a projection screen.
The two foyers on the first and second floor can be used for coffee breaks, drinks gatherings or exhibition space. The foyer in the second floor can be turned into a meeting room by closing the frosted-glass wall and the side walls.
The third floor with the uppermost room, Sela Pulcinella, has an attractive light metal-ceiling construction and a small terrace – ideal for enjoying some fresh air during breaks, along with views of Pontresina and the surrounding mountains.
On the ground floor next to the tourist office is the smallest seminar room, the Sela Roseg. This is ideal for small meetings, as a breakout room, or as a media centre during bigger congresses. The open cloakroom can also be used as a registration area for conferences.
The Convention and Event Centre Pontresina is fitted with state-of-the-art technical installations. These include simultaneous translation facilities, modern projection equipment, and a sophisticated lighting system.
In the Sela Arabella, the digital projector and fibre-optic cabling offer top image quality with maximum resolution.
Internet access can also be provided via Wi-Fi or a high-speed IT network with a simultaneous up- and download capacity of 50 Mbps, which can be upgraded on request to 150 Mbps. IT, electrical and telecommunications connections are fitted throughout the centre, adding to flexibility.
Rental of the large conference hall includes the services of an in-house technician, who is available 8 hours a day to give advice and support, and to ensure perfect functioning of all technical facilities.
For smaller events, the Convention and Event Centre Pontresina crew is on call. Additional technical services for events can be provided by trusted partner companies.
