Cross-country ski in Celerina

Take the sunnier trail

Located at the heart of the Engadin’s extensive network of cross-country ski trails, Celerina conquers the hearts of enthusiasts as soon as they arrive. Skiers of all tastes – whether classic- or skating-style, beginners or experts, children or adults – find trails of every level of difficulty along with superb conditions for an exhilarating day on the snow.

There is hardly a single cross-country ski enthusiast who does not rave about the superlative conditions in this sunny paradise! Of the 230 kilometres of beautifully prepared trails that lead through the lake-strewn Engadin valley, about 30 kilometres lie on Celerina’s doorstep: eight trails for classic- and skating-style skiing alike, including - at least - two official “dream trails”!

Dreams come true here ...

Two of our cross-country ski trails have particularly delightful names: the “Obere Traumloipe” (“Upper Dream Trail”, no. 52) and the “Untere Traumloipe” (“Lower Dream Trail”, no. 53). They fully deserve them, too: the two trails, each graded black and measuring about 12 km, lead from Celerina into the idyllic Staz forest, a snowy landscape of fairy-tale charm. But take note: these are dream trails primarily for those who enjoy an energetic experience of cross-country skiing, with plenty of ups and downs. The Staz forest is also the setting for one of the more demanding stages of the Engadin Skimarathon, which links the trail network around Celerina and Pontresina with the magnificent routes along the Upper Engadin plateau and across its frozen lakes, thereby offering enthusiasts a virtually boundless choice of

… and pulses race

Yes, Celerina’s cross-country trails really are good for the heart. Also for the joints, not to mention all muscular groups and circulation, too. Nordic skiing is the ultimate health sport, and for those who wish to combine pleasure with beneficial cardio training, we have created five so-called “Heart Trails” (“Herz Loipen” in German: numbers 55, 56, 57, 58 and 59) around Celerina. These short loops are prepared for both classic-style and skating-style skiing and have no gradients, so they are ideal for enthusiasts with a cardiac condition as well as for beginners.
