The Cascada da Bernina waterfall path

The Cascada da Bernina waterfall path
The waterfall path is a short but incredibly rewarding adventure hike along the Cascada da Bernina. Along a distance of just 600 metres you’ll cover a cumulative elevation gain of 85 metres. Marvel at the nature along the Ova da Bernina stream, which roars down into the valley over several cascades. The path starts at the Morteratsch RhB station towards the car park.

From three viewpoints, you can watch the wild stream make its way through the primitive mountain wood. Sometimes it pours down over rocks, at other points it builds up to form natural whirlpools. The focal point of the first viewpoint is a rail viaduct on the Bernina line.

On the other two platforms you can find out interesting facts about hydropower and wine transport.

Tip: On the left side of the Ova da Bernina are some secluded spots to enjoy a spontaneous picnic.
