The picturesque village, with its 230 inhabitants, its typical Engadin houses and its carefully fostered Romansh culture, lies in an idyllic location by the River Inn, basking in the sun far removed from the rest of the world.
Inline skaters, horse-riders and hikers are spoiled with a varied network of routes. And although the village might appear somewhat reserved, it still knows how to impress – such as with the Guardaval ruins dating from the 13th century, the largest castle in the Upper Engadin. Or with the Church of San Bartrumieu, which naturally is also included in the village tour, held on Monday evenings throughout the summer.
