Drive a snowcat

Winter operation of the mountain transport facilities / Drive a snowcat

On the Corviglia, you can take a look behind the scenes of the mountain transport facility during the winter season – and as an absolute highlight, you will have the opportunity to try your hand at driving a snowcat piste-grooming vehicle!

Calling all snowcat fans! Engadin St. Moritz Mountains invite you to take a look behind the scenes of the winter operations on the Corviglia. Participants can find out how artificial snow is produced and used to make perfectly groomed pistes. They will also learn all kinds of interesting facts about how a gondola facility operates and where chairlifts go at night. As an absolutely unique and exclusive highlight, you will have the opportunity to have a go at driving a snowcat piste-grooming vehicle around a specially prepared obstacle course.

In winter, the Corviglia is a veritable ski paradise. Each winter season, 150 kilometres of pistes are regularly prepared and kept in top condition. Are you interested in finding out more about the winter operations on the Corviglia? Engadin St. Moritz Mountains offers you a unique and exclusive look behind the scenes. The programme comprises a tour of the workshop, the pump station, the machinery powering the Celerina–Marguns cable car facility, and the place where the Plateau Nair–Corviglia chairlifts spend the night. In addition, the method of producing artificial snow is explained and demonstrated. You can demonstrate your newly acquired driving skills by manoeuvring your way around an obstacle course with the snowplough.
