To enjoy the most beautiful views of the Engadin in complete stillness, you only need to take a few steps into the enchanting mountain landscape. The best way is on snowshoes. Even novices can happily tackle the new 3.5km (2 mile) snowshoe trail up on Muottas Muragl.
The route is clearly marked, and leads at first along the Philosophers’ Trail. You follow the ridge overlooking the Val Champagna, and by the time you reach the plateau of the Plaun dals Müls, you have already completed half the route.
On the way back, you are treated to views of the Val Muragl, the Bernina massif and the frozen lakes of the valley floor. Back at the mountain hotel, you can celebrate over “Mountain Dining” at the newly refurbished panoramic restaurant – complete with views of the spectacular sunset.
