Morteratsch Glacier Trail

Tracing eternal ice on the Morteratsch Glacier Trail

16 stops provide information about the retreat of the glacier and about the mysterious life in its forefield. Where else can you marvel at, touch and even walk on the eternal ice after such a short walk? After just 50 minutes of walking from the Morteratsch train station, you can already see your destination: the milky glacier lake and the gigantic ice tongue.

The LiteraTOUR offers a literary treat. The captivating audio texts can be listened to individually via QR code at the 16 information points along the Morteratsch Glacier Trail. The stories tell anecdotes, poems and tour reports from a wide variety of eras.

Children can follow the stories of the Morteratsch children's book "Sabi's big dream" in the unique glacier world and gather exciting impressions. The children receive a mini-book that tells a story and contains tasks. The tasks can be solved step by step on the hiking trail towards the Morteratsch glacier. On the way there are several information points with stamp buttons where the children can collect imprints in the book. At the end of the tour and when all the stamps have been collected, the booklet with the solution can be presented at the Tourist Information Pontresina and the children will receive a small surprise.

Note(s)
The path is suitable for baby carriages.

The booklet "Sabi's big dream" is available at the Hotel Morteratsch, at the Alpschaukäserei, at the Camping Morteratsch, in the Sabi letterbox at the Glacier Trail or at the Pontresina Tourist Information.
