Fun & action unlimited!

Winter fun for families
Fun & action unlimited!

It’s just as well that children and teenagers long for variety and adventure on their holidays: in the Engadin, fun and action await at every turn. And that means a successful holiday for all the family, from beginning to end!

Fun in the snow

Winter holidays in the Engadin without snow? No way. And winter holidays in the Engadin without fun? Never! So imagine the pleasure when you are guaranteed both! Our family ski areas promise pure joy for skiers and snowboarders of all ages; our toboggan runs guarantee laughter and high thrills for children and adults alike; and our ice rinks offer a sparkling setting for skaters to show off their tricks. Newcomers to the snow circus can enjoy expert support at our ski schools and cross-country ski schools.

Family holiday with a quality seal

It’s official: Pontresina and Zuoz boast the coveted “Family Destination” quality label from the Swiss Tourism Federation thanks to their superb family facilities and services. Pontresina, for example, has created a fun mascot called Sabi, who reveals secrets of nature along the winter walking trail to the Morteratsch Glacier: perfect for children up to the age of 12. Young horse-lovers, meanwhile, can enjoy unforgettable treats such as guided horse rides or a family trip in a horse-drawn sleigh.

First flights of fancy

Skiing and cross-country skiing are certainly fun, but perhaps a little too down-to-earth? How about a first taste of flying through the air? The snowkite schools in Pontresina and Silvaplana show families with children from age 8 how it feels to be pulled by the wind across the sparkling white expanses.

When the weather doesn’t play along

If the sun decides to hide and you seem to be in for a snowstorm, don’t battle the blizzard – get soaking wet instead! Our adventure pools with slides and water play areas offer the perfect escape. Or how about a leisurely spot of bowling at the Gasthaus Spinas in the Val Bever? The historical wooden bowling alley is ideal for a fun family tournament. Over at the Serlas Parc centre in S-chanf, you can enjoy not only micro-bowling but also indoor climbing and bouldering – as well as delicious pizzas. In the evening, it’s time for a bag of popcorn, a comfy cinema seat and a good movie: at the Hotel Castell in Zuoz, for example, at the Cinéma Rex in Pontresina or – for younger kids – at the children’s cinema in Sils.
